Club Regent Casino casino hotel in Winnipeg, MB

Overview

Club Regent is one of two casinos operated directly by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries in Winnipeg, and the more interesting of the pair. The building is organised around a tropical atrium with a large aquarium, which sounds like a gimmick and works surprisingly well as a way of breaking up the floor.

There are around 1,200 slot machines and 25 gaming tables, plus a bingo hall — one of the few remaining at a major Canadian casino — and an event centre that pulls touring acts through the city. Minimums are low and the crowd is local.

No hotel on site. Winnipeg's downtown hotels are fifteen to twenty minutes away, which is how almost everyone visits.

The casino floor

What is actually in the room, category by category. Counts are approximate and shift as machines are rotated — we last checked this property in July 2026.

  • Slots & slot machines

Around 1,200 slot machines across a floor broken up by the atrium — easier on the eye than a single open hall.

  • Table games

Roughly 25 gaming tables — blackjack, roulette and card games at low minimums, with professional dealers.

  • Poker room

Limited poker; check the schedule before travelling.

  • Sportsbook

Sports wagering terminals available on the floor.

  • Live casino

Live dealer tables during peak hours plus electronic table terminals.

  • Bingo

A full bingo hall operates on a regular schedule — increasingly rare at Canadian casinos and a genuine point of difference.

  • High rollers & VIP

A small high-limit area; this is not a high roller property.

Hotel & resort

No rooms on site. Stay downtown — the Exchange District and the Forks both put you fifteen to twenty minutes from the casino and give you somewhere to spend the daytime.

On site

  • No on-site rooms
  • Aquarium and tropical atrium
  • Event centre
  • Bingo hall
  • Free parking

Dining

Where to eat without leaving the property. Descriptions are our own; nothing here is paid placement.

Casino restaurant

Straightforward sit-down dining on the gaming level.

Buffet and quick counters

Reasonably priced, popular with regulars.

Entertainment

The event centre programmes touring music and comedy through the year, and the bingo hall runs its own steady calendar. For a city of Winnipeg's size the booking is respectable.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Genuine architectural character
  • One of the last real bingo halls at a major casino
  • Low minimums and no pretension
  • Free parking

What does not

  • No hotel on site
  • Suburban location with nothing around it
  • Limited table variety

Verdict

Worth an evening if you are in Winnipeg, particularly for the bingo hall and the atrium. Not a reason to visit the city, and not a casino hotel in the full sense.

Casino Niagara

The older, cheaper, louder Niagara floor — no hotel tower of its own, and better for it.
