Overview
Grey Eagle sits on Tsuut'ina Nation land on Calgary's southwestern edge, and it is the largest casino in the city. The hotel opened later than the casino, in 2018, which means the rooms are among the newest of any Canadian casino hotel — a genuine advantage over properties that have been renovating around a 2004 build for two decades.
The floor covers roughly 110,000 square feet with around 1,000 slot machines and 35 gaming tables. The Grey Eagle Event Centre seats several thousand and books a strong concert calendar, which is what fills the hotel most weekends.
Against River Cree in Edmonton it is a close call: Grey Eagle has newer rooms and a bigger floor, River Cree has more on-site facilities. Both are good; neither is a national destination.
