Hard Rock Casino Vancouver
A music venue with a casino attached — no hotel of its own, and the best theatre in the Lower Mainland for its size.

Overview
Hard Rock Casino Vancouver sits in Coquitlam, half an hour east of downtown, and leads with music rather than gaming. The 1,000-seat Molson Canadian Theatre is the best room of its size in the Lower Mainland, and the branding — memorabilia on the walls, a rock-themed floor — runs through the whole building.
There is no hotel on site, which keeps it off most casino hotel lists. We include it because it is one of the three properties any visitor comparing the Vancouver market will look at, and because several hotels sit within a few minutes' drive, making an overnight straightforward if not seamless.
The floor is solid: roughly 1,000 slot machines and 70 gaming tables, with lower minimums than Parq and a more relaxed crowd than River Rock.
The casino floor
What is actually in the room, category by category. Counts are approximate and shift as machines are rotated — we last checked this property in July 2026.
Slots & slot machines
Around 1,000 modern slot machines with a decent progressive selection and a compact high-limit area.
Table games
Roughly 70 gaming tables — blackjack, roulette, baccarat, pai gow and card games, at minimums that suit casual play.
Poker room
A poker room operates with cash games and a tournament schedule; check current hours as they vary seasonally.
Sportsbook
Sports wagering terminals and lounge screens on the floor.
Live casino
Full live dealer pit supported by electronic table terminals.
High rollers & VIP
A high-limit gaming area with host service; the serious high roller business in BC sits at River Rock.
Hotel & resort
No rooms on site. Several chain hotels operate within a five-minute drive in Coquitlam, and the SkyTrain Evergreen extension makes a downtown Vancouver hotel viable if you are willing to travel back after a show.
On site
- No on-site rooms
- 1,000-seat theatre
- Multiple bars and restaurants
- Large free parking
- SkyTrain access via Coquitlam Central
Dining
Where to eat without leaving the property. Descriptions are our own; nothing here is paid placement.
Asylum Steak & Seafood
The upscale room, better than the theming would lead you to expect.
Hard Rock Cafe-style casual dining
Burgers, ribs and screens — the default pre-show option.
Buffet and counters
Quick options on the gaming level.
Entertainment
The theatre is the property. A thousand seats, good sightlines, decent sound, and a booking calendar that pulls national touring acts through Coquitlam on a regular basis. On non-show nights the building is noticeably quiet.

Pros and cons
What works
- Best mid-size music venue in the Lower Mainland
- Free parking
- Lower table minimums than the Vancouver and Richmond properties
- Relaxed, unpretentious floor
What does not
- No hotel on site
- Location is an industrial stretch of Coquitlam
- Quiet on nights with nothing in the theatre
Verdict
Book a show, drive out, stay nearby. As a casino hotel it is incomplete; as an evening it is often the best value in the Vancouver market.
