Parq Vancouver casino hotel in Vancouver, BC

Overview

Parq Vancouver is the only casino hotel in Canada that sits inside a genuine downtown core, wedged beside BC Place on Pacific Boulevard. It is also the only one operating under two separate luxury hotel brands — a JW Marriott of roughly 329 rooms and The Douglas, an Autograph Collection property of about 188.

The casino floor is the smaller part of the story. Roughly 70,000 square feet over two levels, with around 600 slot machines and 75 gaming tables — respectable, but a fraction of what Fallsview or Pickering put on the floor. What Parq sells instead is a complete downtown resort: six restaurants and bars, a spa, a conference floor and a 30,000 square foot rooftop park on the sixth level.

Judge it as a luxury city hotel with a casino attached and it scores very well. Judge it as a gaming destination and it comes third in its own province.

The casino floor

What is actually in the room, category by category. Counts are approximate and shift as machines are rotated — we last checked this property in July 2026.

  • Slots & slot machines

Around 600 slot machines across two gaming levels — a curated bank rather than a wall, with modern cabinets and a compact high-limit slot area.

  • Table games

Roughly 75 gaming tables. Baccarat and blackjack lead, with roulette, pai gow and card games filling the pit. Minimums run higher than at River Rock.

  • Poker room

Poker is offered on a limited schedule rather than through a dedicated full-time room — check before travelling if it is your priority.

  • Sportsbook

Sports wagering terminals and lounge seating on the gaming level.

  • Live casino

Live dealer tables across both levels with electronic terminals available.

  • High rollers & VIP

Private high-limit salons on the upper gaming level with dedicated host service and 24/7 VIP attention. This is where Parq competes hardest.

Hotel & resort

The two hotels are the reason to come. The JW Marriott is the larger and more corporate; The Douglas is smaller, quieter and more designed, and it is the one we would book. Rooms in both are the best of any casino hotel in Canada — proper luxury standard, with stadium or city views. The sixth-floor park, an actual landscaped outdoor space with trees and lawn, is unlike anything else in the category.

On site

  • approx. 517 rooms across two hotels
  • Spa and fitness centre
  • 30,000 sq ft rooftop park
  • Six restaurants and bars
  • Large conference and ballroom space
  • Adjacent to BC Place and Rogers Arena

Dining

Where to eat without leaving the property. Descriptions are our own; nothing here is paid placement.

BC Kitchen

Regional cooking, casual room, the property's all-day anchor.

Honey Salt

Farm-to-table format, the busiest of the restaurants at breakfast.

The Victor

Steak and sushi in the flagship room — the best dinner in any Canadian casino hotel.

1886 and rooftop bars

Cocktail bars including one opening onto the park level.

Entertainment

Parq has no theatre of its own — and does not need one. BC Place and Rogers Arena are both within a few minutes' walk, which makes this the obvious hotel for a concert or a game. The property functions as the pre- and post-event base for that entire district.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Best hotel rooms in the Canadian casino hotel category
  • Genuine downtown location — everything walkable
  • Restaurant line-up that stands on its own merits
  • Rooftop park is a real amenity, not a marketing line

What does not

  • Smallest gaming floor of the major properties
  • No dedicated full-time poker room
  • Parking costs and event-night congestion
  • Priced as a luxury hotel, because it is one

Verdict

The luxury pick. If the hotel and the city matter more to you than the size of the casino floor, Parq is the best stay on this list — book The Douglas, walk to a game, and treat the gaming floor as an amenity rather than the agenda.
