River Rock Casino Resort
BC's flagship — a full resort on the Fraser, ten minutes from the airport by rail.
out of 10

Overview
River Rock is the largest casino hotel in British Columbia and, by a reasonable margin, the easiest to reach of any in Canada: the Canada Line station sits at the door, ten minutes from Vancouver International Airport and about twenty-five from downtown Vancouver. For a property of this size, that is an unusual advantage.
The resort runs to roughly 396 rooms across a hotel and an adjacent all-suite building, with a 1,000-seat show theatre, a spa, a marina on the Fraser River and a casino floor of around 75,000 square feet. Table games are the strength here — close to a hundred gaming tables, with a baccarat presence far heavier than anywhere in eastern Canada, reflecting the local player base.
The overall standard is high and the tone is calmer than the Ontario equivalents. This is a property that reads as a hotel with a casino in it, rather than a casino that added rooms.
The casino floor
What is actually in the room, category by category. Counts are approximate and shift as machines are rotated — we last checked this property in July 2026.
Slots & slot machines
Around 1,000 modern slot machines — a smaller bank than the Ontario giants, but well curated, with a strong high-limit slot room.
Table games
Close to 100 gaming tables. Baccarat is the headline game, with a wide spread of limits; blackjack, roulette, pai gow and sic bo fill out the pit alongside carnival card games.
Poker room
A well-regarded poker room hosting daily cash games and a tournament series that draws players from across the province.
Sportsbook
Sports wagering lounge with screens and terminals adjacent to the main floor.
Live casino
A large live dealer pit with professional dealers, backed by electronic table terminals at lower minimums.
High rollers & VIP
Extensive high-limit salons for both tables and slots, private gaming rooms, dedicated host service and 24/7 VIP service. The high-limit baccarat operation here is the busiest in Canada.
Hotel & resort
Around 396 rooms between the main hotel and The Hotel at River Rock, an all-suite building that is the better of the two. Standards are genuinely upscale — this is one of the few casino hotels in Canada that would hold its rating with the gaming floor removed. There is a full spa, an indoor pool, a fitness centre and a marina, and the airport shuttle takes ten minutes.

Dining
Where to eat without leaving the property. Descriptions are our own; nothing here is paid placement.
Tramonto
The signature room — Pacific Northwest cooking, strong seafood, a good BC wine list.
Sea Harbour or equivalent Chinese dining
Cantonese dining to a standard that reflects Richmond's food scene rather than casino-hotel norms.
Curve Lounge & Grill
All-day casual dining beside the floor.
Buffet and quick counters
A buffet plus fast options on the gaming level.
Entertainment
The 1,000-seat theatre programmes touring music, comedy and Cantonese-language shows — a mix you will not find at any other Canadian casino hotel. The room is intimate enough that there are genuinely no bad seats.

Pros and cons
What works
- Best transit access of any casino hotel in Canada
- Hotel quality genuinely upscale, not casino-adjacent
- Deepest table game programme in the country
- Richmond's restaurant scene is a short walk and a serious bonus
What does not
- Fewer slot machines than the big Ontario floors
- Flight path location — light sleepers should ask for a quiet room
- Rates climb hard in summer
Verdict
The strongest all-round casino hotel in western Canada. If you fly into Vancouver and want one night that combines a good hotel, serious table games and no car, this is the answer.
